The Death of Work Ethic in the West

It seems as though the work ethic that built and expanded Western civilization has been all but lost. Our culture has been engrained with the philosophies of men, resulting in a modern welfare state which seems only to develop individuals who are lazy and virtually unwilling to work for and provide for themselves. Instead, they have been taught to rely upon the government or other people’s work to give them everything they need. But in a welfare age, the question arises: What is God’s desire for mankind pertaining to work, and whatever happened to the work ethic that western man used to hold to?
