Making the Rescued Adoption Documentary
The filming is completed, the editing is nearly done and the film is ‘locked’ (in filmmakers lingo), the score and music are being laid over the footage and all of the sound being equalized, the opening and closing credits are being finalized and the film submission form is being filled out. The Rescued adoption documentary is finally a reality. Here’s the story of how it came to be.
The Wintons come to Virginia
Last weekend my family and community received a special blessing: The Wintons came to visit for a few days and performed a bluegrass gospel concert at our home. We enjoyed sweet fellowship while preparing for the concert, as well as during the dinner and concert that saw almost 100 people join us for a lovely evening of mountain music in our beautiful spot in the Highlands of Virginia. In addition to their fantastic musical performance, Randy preached the gospel of Jesus Christ, as well telling the Wintons’ story about adopting their daughters, Randy’s MS, and their family’s work on a adoption documentary film and in promoting CHI vendors across the country.
Raising Boys to be Men – Kevin Swanson interviews Randy Winton on Generations Radio
Kevin Swanson of Generations Radio invited Randy Winton onto his radio show to talk about Randy’s journey as a father and the development of Christian Home Industry. Kevin talked to Randy about the tough choices he made to be able to have his boys work alongside him, how that manifested itself in their family landscaping business and their family bluegrass band. He also reviewed their new effort through Christian Home Industry to support and promote others seeking to build their family economy and pursue business together as a family.
2011 Family Economics Conference in Review
We had the privilege two weeks ago to attend the 2011 Family Economics Conference in Raleigh, NC, hosted by Generations with Vision. We were asked to perform as a band and were also given the opportunity to present Christian Home Industry to the attendees. We had the chance to put on a lunchtime concert and to speak about CHI. It was a great conference and a great opportunity to promote CHI vendors and meet new vendors and supporters.
