  • Working through the Accounting Cycle with “real life” business examples.
  • Preparing the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for your business
  • Using the Financial Statements to evaluate and manage what’s really happening in your business

Learn QuickBooks with Confidence! – Basic

QuickBooks, a user-friendly accounting program, can be a vital resource in managing your business. In this 8-week course, you will learn to use QuickBooks for:

  • Setting up your company “file”
  • Chart of accounts
  • Items
  • Customer and Vendor lists
  • Working with selling transactions: invoices, sales receipts, payments, deposits and credit memos
  • Working with buying transactions: bills, bill payments, checks, bills vs. checks, and credit memos
  •  Working with bank accounts, reconciling bank accounts and finding discrepancies
  • Producing Financial Statements

Learn QuickBooks with Confidence! – Advanced

A continuation of the Basics course, this course delves further into more advanced functions of the QuickBooks accounting program. In this 8 –week course you will learn:

  • Working with payroll transactions:  adding employees, handling deductions, payroll taxes
  • Working with inventory: purchase orders, receiving items, adjusting inventory
  • Working with sales Taxes setting up, adjusting, paying, and reporting sales taxes
  • Custom forms and letters
  • Advanced Financial Statements

Tax Strategies and Planning for the Small/Family Business

Discover key tax strategies to save your company hundreds or even thousands of dollars. In this course you will learn:

  • Learn how to plan your business and activities to save on taxes
  • Should you incorporate…. or not?
  • Will the IRS consider your business a hobby or a business?
  • How should you pay your children?
  • How can entertainment be a legitimate expense?
  • How to legally and ethically deduct expenses you are already incurring.

Is It Worth It? – Using a Cost-Benefit Analysis for the Small Business Venture

Can you tell if a business idea is worth pursuing?  Can you distinguish a “money-maker” from a “money-drainer”?  Will this venture be worth your time and efforts?  In this class, you will learn to prepare a cost-benefit analysis, which will help you to respond wisely to various business opportunities.
